PENNY PANCALDI | THE CLOTHING CLINIC

Online Alterations Consultant

An accomplished fashion designer and maker who has worked with many high-profile clients internationally.

 

Penny’s concerns for the effects of fast fashion on the planet led her to set up The Clothing Clinic in 2019 which offers alternative ways of repairing and reviving worn out clothing.

Alongside Roger, our alterations technician, Penny offers advice on altering or repurposing clothing.

KIRSTA McSKIMMING | NOTHING NEW ART

Workshop Co-ordinator

A resource-led textile artist with a background in theatre costume.

 

Kirsta recently graduated with a Masters in Textile Design

in which her studies focused on

the effects of textile practise on mental wellbeing.

 

Through The Textile Collective, Kirsta maintains the sewing space and offers help and support with participant's projects.

OPEN SEWING WORKROOM

An open sewing workroom specialising in keeping textiles out of landfill.

We employ exciting and imaginative ways of repairing and repurposing textiles, encouraging our clients to explore new skills.

We offer a fully-equipped sewing machine and pattern-cutting workroom, library of sewing books, large stocks of fabric and haberdashery and an experienced workroom technician for sewing support

This project has been funded by the North-East Essex Health and Wellbeing Alliance and GP Primary Choice.  Funding is administered through Community 360.
